Entry 8
8:45 Cairo time
The army is allowing ambulances in to treat the wounded but remains on the outskirts of the demonstrations and refuses to interfere despite many people begging it to. They say they are following orders.

The number of protestors against Mubarak, are becoming less as the night gets longer and people assist the wounded out of the square.
The spirit of those participating is still high though many are shocked and disappointed that the president has no mercy on them in this way. The blood of Egyptians is not important to him. This is not an effort to control the situation or stop the bloodshed. This is a civil war between police and peaceful protestors.

He is 82, he can claim he has fallen ill and let the Vice President take over if he is too proud to step down. That is what a Vice President is for. Again that is our request, for the Vice President to take over as a transition president till the elections and for Mubarak to completely step down.
